History
There are plenty of buildings in Southport that have stood the test of time and have a history to share but none are as unique as the Southport Masonic Hall. A grade two listed building, it started its life way back in 1876 as the Duke Street United Methodist Church. The memorial stone was laid by the then Mayor of the borough of Southport, with work progressing under the guidance of famed architects Maxwell, Tuke and Hurst.
The very same architects were well known for other notable designs such as The Atkinson and the world famous and iconic Blackpool Tower. The building was formally opened on 10th September 1879.
The church services came to an end in the 1950's before the premises became a Masonic Hall in 1956. To this day many events are hosted inside the impressive venue and it could be the perfect private setting to celebrate your special day or occasion as it has been for so many others.
